PURPOSE: WALK IT OR WASTE IT!

The Lie We’ve Been Sold

Most people live under the illusion that purpose is something they stumble upon—like a hidden treasure waiting to be found. They assume that if they just keep living, one day everything will magically fall into place. But let’s be real: that’s not how purpose works. Purpose isn’t a lottery ticket—it’s an intentional pursuit.

You either discover it, own it, and walk in it, or you drift aimlessly, settling for mediocrity while making excuses about why you’re stuck. The world is full of people who had great potential but never stepped into it. They waited for perfect conditions, external validation, or some dramatic sign from heaven, and now their names are forgotten. The cemetery is full of untapped potential—don’t let yours be buried there.

So, if you’re waiting for purpose to drop in your lap, wake up. You have a mandate. You have a calling. You have no time to waste.

Purpose is Not About Comfort—It’s About Assignment

Here’s the first truth you need to swallow: Purpose is not designed for your comfort; it is designed for your assignment. It is not a luxury—it’s a battlefield. Purpose demands blood, sweat, and sacrifice.

The Bible is clear: Every person who fulfilled their God-given purpose had to endure discomfort, rejection, and suffering.

Moses left the palace to become a shepherd for 40 years before leading Israel (Exodus 3-4). He traded comfort for calling.

Joseph was betrayed by his brothers, falsely accused, and imprisoned before stepping into his purpose (Genesis 37-41).

Esther risked her life to fulfill her assignment (Esther 4:16). U

Paul endured beatings, shipwrecks, and imprisonment for the sake of his calling (2 Corinthians 11:23-28).

Jesus Himself suffered betrayal, torture, and crucifixion to fulfill His purpose of salvation.

If you are looking for an easy life, you are not looking for purpose. Purpose will stretch you, break you, refine you, and remake you. It is not for the weak, but for the warriors.

Excuses Are the Coffin of Potential

Excuses are the greatest killers of destiny. And the worst part? No one will cry at their funeral except you.

Excuses are comfortable. They feel safe. But in reality, they are chains that keep you enslaved to mediocrity. Every time you make an excuse, you bury your potential deeper.

“I’m too young.” (Jeremiah used this excuse, and God rebuked him—Jeremiah 1:6-7.)

“I’m not good enough.” (Gideon tried this one—Judges 6:12-16.)

“I don’t have the resources.” (Moses complained about this too—Exodus 4:10-12.)

But here’s the reality: No excuse is valid enough to override God’s calling on your life. If God has given you a purpose, He has also given you the ability to fulfill it.

So, what will it be? Will you keep making excuses or step into your calling?

Fear is a Self-Imposed Prison

Fear is a paralyzing force that keeps people from ever stepping into their destiny. It whispers lies that convince you that failure is too painful to risk. But let’s set the record straight:

Fear is a liar.

If Peter let fear control him, he would have never stepped out of the boat (Matthew 14:29).

If David let fear control him, he would have never faced Goliath (1 Samuel 17:45-50).

If Jesus let fear stop Him, He would have never gone to the cross.

Fear convinces you that staying stuck is safer than moving forward. But you were never meant to play it safe. You were meant to conquer. You were meant to step out.

If you’re waiting for fear to leave before you step into your calling, you’ll be waiting forever. Do it afraid. Move forward despite the fear. Fear is a prison, but purpose is the key.

Your Purpose is Not About You

Let’s get this straight: Your purpose is NOT about you—it’s about God’s kingdom.

Many people want to walk in purpose for the wrong reasons. They want success, fame, comfort, and admiration. But God’s purpose is never self-centered.

Jesus Himself said: “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.” (Mark 10:45)

If your purpose doesn’t serve others, it’s not divine—it’s selfish ambition.

Stop Waiting for Permission

Who told you that you need permission to be who God called you to be?

David wasn’t chosen because of human opinion—God saw his heart (1 Samuel 16:7).

Jesus didn’t seek approval from the Pharisees—He obeyed the Father (John 5:19).

Paul didn’t wait for people to accept him—he walked in his calling (Galatians 1:10).

You don’t need validation from people. If God called you, that is all the permission you need.

Purpose Requires Death—To Self, Comfort, and Sin

Here’s a hard truth: You cannot walk in purpose while holding onto the flesh.

Purpose requires:

Dying to comfort zones

Dying to selfish desires

Dying to sinful habits

Jesus said, “Whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it.” (Matthew 16:25)

You must lay down everything that is holding you back. If you’re not willing to kill the distractions, bad habits, and complacency, you will never fully step into your purpose.

The Clock is Ticking—What Are You Waiting For?

If you think you have time, you’re wrong. The greatest lie the devil tells people is that they have forever to step into their calling.

But tomorrow is not guaranteed.

People die every day with unfulfilled dreams.

People take their purpose to the grave because they were waiting for the “right time”.

People waste years playing small because they were afraid to go all in.

You don’t have forever. What are you doing with your time?

Final Word: WALK IT OR WASTE IT

This is not a feel-good message. This is a wake-up call.

If you don’t step into your purpose, no one else will do it for you.

Will you let fear, excuses, and comfort keep you stagnant?

Or will you rise up, take ownership, and step boldly into the life God created you for?

The choice is yours. But remember—God never called anyone to sit on the sidelines. Get in the game, or get out of the way.
