A life separated from the world. (2 Corinthians 6:14-17)
We have been called into the kingdom of God’s dear son Jesus Christ and as we are called into it we cannot return to the old world and its systems. Being a child of God means functioning by the systems of God not of man. The systems of men are corrupt, self fulfilling and sinful in nature as they don’t bring glory to God. However, the systems of the kingdom of God are all different as they seek to establish and bring glory to God in every way possible.
A life separated from ungodly lifestyles is a true mark that shows we are separated unto God. Our Father in heaven is holy and righteous and because of His nature He hates sin and anything associated with ungodliness. (1 Peter 1:16)
Therefore, Separation unto God is separation from those things that God hates! If you are dedicated to God not everybody can be your friend. (Genesis 13:14), When Abraham separated from Lot then God spoke to him about his life and future.
The kind of company you have always have an impact on your decisions. This is because the people you have in your inner circle always voice what they expect and want of you even if it doesn’t line up with what God demands of you.
We should know that;
bad company corrupts good morals. 1 Corinthians 15:33
In the bible we see people who spent time together and their union was one which was fruitful and impactful:
° Moses & Aaron leading the children of Israel to Canaan.
° Joshua & Caleb speaking a different report than that of the other ten spies.
° John, Peter and James the disciples Jesus went with for prayer.
° Paul and Barnabas preaching the gospel to the gentile world.
Separated unto God is separation from ungodly vocations and endeavours. When you are separated unto God you don’t give your services nor associate yourself with that which is opposite to the will of God. In Genesis Moses chose to suffer with the children of Israel rather than to be called a child of Pharaoh’s daughter and enjoy the pleasures of the Palace.
By faith Moses, when he was grown up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter. Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a time. Hebrews 11:24-25
Being a child of God means utterly and relentlessly surrendering to the will and plan of God. It means that you will not take shortcuts nor do anything that puts your relationship with God in question.
Separations unto God means a life separated from yourself. This means separation from the flesh. (Romans 12:1-2)
Paul says the flesh and the spirit war against each other, so when you are separated unto God you cease to function and do things as per your fleshly desires and impulses. You do as per the leading of the Spirit of God.
Remember Dedication to God means Separation unto God which will result in DISTINCTION!
