The Wisdom Way

Ecclesiastes 7:12

Wisdom is a shelter, just as money is a shelter, but the advantage of knowledge is this: Wisdom preserves those who have it.

What is wisdom?

Wisdom is the capacity to function by the divine principles set by God for men. These principles are God-made for men so that they become absolutely what God intended them to become here on earth. God created everything by his wisdom, and only when men have the wisdom of God they can become and accomplish their God-given purpose.

Deuteronomy 4:5-6

See, I have taught you decrees and laws as the LORD my God commanded me, so that you may follow them in the land you are entering to take possession of it. Observe them carefully, for this will show your wisdom and understanding to the nations, who will hear about all these decrees and say, “Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.

Wisdom is walking in obedience to the divine laws that have been set by God (Joshua 1:8). God didn’t create men to be independent of him but he made men in his own image so that he would function through him. The divine laws of God are found in his word, His word is the manuscript that is loaded with his wisdom for men and it is men’s duty to search out the wisdom so that they know and function in the perfect plan of God. The success of men is established in obeying what God has set for his children. The children of Israel only succeeded when they followed what God would have said and their subsequent failure was also in them being disobedient to the laws of God.  When we build our lives on the infallible word of God, we become what it says and we manifest what it says we have. (Matthew 7:24-25)

Wisdom is the spiritual supernatural capacity to uncover and bring to light complicated things, through wisdom one uncovers mysteries and becomes the problem solver. A person who is full of the wisdom of God becomes a source, he functions and stands to be the answer to the cries of humanity and by so functioning in the wisdom God is glorified.  In the bible, we see men who functioned in wisdom and they became front runners in their generation. One such man is Daniel, he had the wisdom to interpret dreams and because of this wisdom, he both saved and served different kings in Babylon.

Daniel 5:12

He did this because Daniel, whom the king called Belteshazzar, was found to have a keen mind and knowledge and understanding, and also the ability to interpret dreams, explain riddles and solve difficult problems. Call for Daniel, and he will tell you what the writing means.

Also, Joseph had such wisdom that he predicted the coming drought and he also brought the solution that would solve the food shortages in Egypt. One can’t have the wisdom of God and be small in life, wisdom has the power to set apart, to lift and to make one powerful.

Steps To Receiving Wisdom

There are different kinds of wisdom in the world but the wisdom of God transcends all other wisdom out there. The wisdom of God belongs to God thus it’s important to ask for it from God who owns it.

 Ephesians 1:17 I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.

King Solomon didn’t have wisdom at the start of his rule over Israel, however, he became a very wise person when he asked it from God and from that moment, he became the wisest man in his generation.

Step 1. The Fear of the Lord.

The Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom (Job 28:28)

The definition of the fear of the Lord is to walk and function in reverence to God. When the Bible talks about the fear of the Lord it is talking about true worship, the kind of worship where the Godhood of God descends when it is done.

John 4: 23-24

Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.

When true worship happens the wisdom of God is released by the father, he gives it unconditionally to his children so that they become true sons and daughters.

Step 2. Desperate Desire.

If a person wants to be wise; if they want to be full of wisdom then the person should have a desperate desire for it from within. The kind of longing and passion that attracts the wisdom of the Lord (Proverbs 2:2).

The desire for wisdom is what God fills, so if the desire is there then the wisdom will be availed. Remember “Your expectation attracts your need

Proverbs 4: 7

 The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding.

Step 3. Ask from God.

Jesus told his disciples that if they asked anything from the Father in his name the father would grant it.

John 14:14

You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.

The reason why many people don’t have the wisdom of God is that they haven’t asked for it from the rightful owner and giver.

 James 1: 5

If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.

Fruits Of Having The Wisdom Of God

1. Wisdom attracts;

It brings forth an audience in one’s life as it gives one a voice that cannot be resisted or hidden. Through wisdom, one’s deeds are amplified for all to see and as they are seen the deeds will cause those who are aligned and called to be destiny supporters to come forth.

This is what happened after Solomon received wisdom from God.

1 Kings 4:34

From all nations people came to listen to Solomon’s wisdom, sent by all the kings of the world, who had heard of his wisdom.

2. Wisdom Creates & Opens Up Opportunities;

The action of wisdom causes great doors to be established for the one who has it. Wisdom is the tool that causes a back-liner to become a front-liner; through wisdom, important people come and invest to partake of the working of God inside of you.

When Pharaoh heard that there was a young man who could interpret dreams, he sent for him from the dungeon so that his problem would be solved and by the solving of Pharaoh’s dream Joseph rose immediately to become the most powerful man in Egypt besides Pharaoh.

Genesis 41: 14-15

So Pharaoh sent for Joseph, and he was quickly brought from the dungeon. When he had shaved and changed his clothes, he came before Pharaoh. Pharaoh said to Joseph, “I had a dream, and no one can interpret it. But I have heard it said of you that when you hear a dream you can interpret it.

Through wisdom, Joseph shined in a foreign land and became an answer to the cries of humanity.

4. Wisdom Brings Wealth;

 Where the wisdom of God is at work wealth manifests. One can’t be wise and be empty as there will be people who would be willing to appreciate you for what you have. This is what happened to Solomon, because he had the wisdom of God at work in him men from all over came to hear him speak and as they came, they brought gifts to him.

1 Kings 10:23-25

King Solomon was greater in riches and wisdom than all the other kings of the earth. The whole world sought an audience with Solomon to hear the wisdom God had put in his heart. Year after year, everyone who came brought a gift—articles of silver and gold, robes, weapons and spices, and horses and mules.

Child of God, wealth is at home where is; you cannot have wisdom and be empty.

Through the wisdom of God, one will accomplish anything they set their mind to and will become the very best as the mind and action of God will be at work.
